ICAD-HONO/NO2-210L In‑Situ Monitor

The ICAD‑HONO/NO₂‑210L provides fast, direct and calibration‑free measurements of nitrous acid (HONO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) using high‑resolution Iterative Cavity DOAS spectroscopy. The method quantifies both gases purely spectroscopically, without converters, reagent gases or external calibration standards.

The long effective absorption paths of the optical resonator enable sub‑ppb detection limits with 1‑second time resolution. Because the measurement is fully optical, the system shows no significant cross‑sensitivities, no humidity‑related artefacts and requires no sample drying. Integrated zero checks and temperature‑stabilised optics ensure long‑term stability with minimal maintenance effort.

With low power consumption and a compact 19″ rack design, the analyzer is suited for laboratory studies, stationary air‑quality monitoring and mobile field campaigns on vehicles or ships. A browser‑based graphical interface provides full access to data, system diagnostics and configuration via Wi‑Fi or LAN.

Operation Principle

The analyzer uses a closed‑path optical resonator that provides effective absorption paths up to 3 km. HONO and NO₂ concentrations are derived from Iterative Cavity DOAS (ICAD) spectroscopy in the 350–390 nm wavelength range.

The measurement is fully spectroscopic and direct. No converters, reagent gases or sample drying are required. Automatic zero checks and temperature‑stabilised optics ensure low drift and reliable operation under laboratory and field conditions.
